Giving to Specific Projects

We currently are raising funds for these specific projects: i-See and Kawasaki Mule

We currently are raising funds for these specific projects:

Helping People See

1) $2,100—i-See with Glasses We have an opportunity to begin a self-sustaining optical ministry through our hospital here in Kotidanga. The i-Tec organization in Central Florida offers at cost an initial start-up kit that includes 400 pairs of glasses and the basic tools to get a local believer going. The goal would be to start our first i-See project here with a vision towards sending trained teams in the future to other villages. Currently, there are no optometrists in the Gulf Province, and the closest place any locals can find glasses (while affording them would be out-of-reach) is a three day hike away, followed by a full-day’s travel by boat and truck. This ministry will draw more people to the Gospel, and we see this as an excellent project that while helping the local people, can be completely indigenous. For more information, see i-Tec’s website: http://www.itecusa.org/isee.html

Kawasaki Mule
The back seat of this Mule folds down to extend the cargo bed, making it perfect for carrying groceries and building supplies home from the airstrip.

2) $4,800—Kawasaki Mule We have cleared out a road that spans about 10-12 miles through the jungle. In 2007, we utilized a Kawasaki Mule to travel down that road to Suwatua where we started Suwatua Baptist Church. That Mule made it possible to be at Suwatua in less than an hour, compared with the regular three hour hike. Our current Mule is nearing the end of its life. After three years of bouncing along this road, we have a worn out transmission and a broken frame. We would like to upgrade it to a Kawasaki Mule 3010 with a diesel engine. The price will cover the purchase and shipment of the Mule into the bush. Update: We have now purchased a very nice used Mule and it is ready for shipping. We have not raised the funding for shipping, import duty, or airlift. To date, $9,200 of $14,000 has been given towards this project.

You can give to one of these projects currently by sending a donation to the address provided below. Please include on your check which project you would like to give towards.
